Season 2011-12
Pre-seaon started with the Bryansburn Tournament in which we finished a disappointing
4th after winning it for the last 2 years

The Ballymena Provincial League started at the beginning of August in a year that was to be
a very important  year as we started to do work on the ground improvements, to enable us
to re-enter the Irish League Championship 2,we were on course up to the turn of the year
and from that time we slipped up on a couple of games that we should have won but it was a
Tight finish to the end which we ended up in 3rd position, which was not enough for us to
Qualify. We also won the Crawford Cup for the second time
Season 2012-13
The Season started with the loss of 3 players from the previous season namely Ciaran Carson,
Martin McAvoy and James McGrogan,But we did bring some new players in Steven Andrews,
Ryan McMillan, PatrickDillon and CiaranCrothers.

We had a very good start to the Season with the First Annual Tournament which is sponsored
by the Armstrong Family and was won by Crusaders Reserves beating Brantwood in the Final.
Our Pre-Season started with games against Sirocco Works were we went down by 3-2.
Our next was against our new ground sharers York Road and won 6-2,we then brought Paul
Kirks side Lisburn Rangers to Skegoneill Avenue and won that by 4 goals to 2.Then it was the
turn of Downpatrick f.c  to visit us and gave us the toughest game in our pre-season just
scraping through with a 3 goals to 2 win. All in all we have had a good pre-season hope it
keeps up Guys.

We started our Ballymena Provincial Intermediate League off with a win over our nearest
Opponents Ballynure O.B with a 4-0 win.We then went to play Carniny Amateurs in the
McReynolds Cup and win 4-1 to see us into round 2,then back to the league with a trip to
Magherafelt Sky Blues that ended with a 0-0 score line.Back to the B.P.I.L and it was a visit
from Dunloy who put us in our place with a 2-1 win and our first and hopefully our last defeat

We then started our cup runs but it wasnt to be a very long run so far we went to take on
Bloomfield in their back yard in the 2nd round of the Steel and Sons Cup and went down in the
end with a 5-4 defeat in extra time.

Then it was the turn of the Irish Cup 1st round when we travelled to Londonderry to take on
Oxford United Stars which that game also went to extra time The Brants  losing 3-2

Back to the Ballymena Cups for the O’Gorman Cup round 1 and it was Carniny Amateurs again
We played in the opener but this time it was a more convincing win  the score was 3-0
to the Brants

Our game was called off against  Clough Rangers .So next it was the turn of last years
League Winners Raceview to come to Skegoneill Avenue. It was a tough game for the Brants
As Raceview are our boggy team in the League but we run out 4-2 winners

Next up was the Intermediate  Cup and were drawen away to Bourneview Y.M in the mid ulster
League, but for some strange reason their pict wasnt ready to play on so it went to
Intermediate Committee and their ruling was that  Bourneview were expelled from the
competion,so Brantwood progressed to the next round.

Next up was the O’Gorman Cup aganist Ballynure O.B which was also a difficult tie and they
were a little stronger than the Brants winning by 3-2

We then got the previous League game with Clough Rangers played with Brantwood winning
1-0
Then the first of 2 meetings with F.C Ballynure firstly in the McReynolds cup which we won 3-2,
and the next week met them in the League with a 5-2 win

The first week in December gave us our first crack at who we think are our title rivels
Newtowne f.c It was a very tight game which the brants had a man sent off and that lead to
Newtowne winning by 1-0

We where theN due to meet Desertmartin but that was called off

Our next match was away to Ballynure O.B we had brought in a new coach in Kingsley Burrows
and this was his first game as coach having only met some of the boys an hour before the
ame, there was a lot of coaching from the dugout the had been a bit quiet in recent weeks and
went on to win the game very comfortably by 5-0

Our first game in 2013 was to entertain Banbridge Town in the Intermediate Cup in which we
lost 4-3 but Banbridge Town knew they were in a tough match the game could have when to
xtra time if the Refereehad of seen what everyone else did (handball in the area) but the ref
aid he couldnt see it.So in Brantwood’s tradition when the whistle goes its forgot about

Next was the turn of Clough Rangers at Skegoneill Ave this time in the Crawford Cup which the
Brants scrapped through with the 1-0 win

Then we were drew out to play Clough Rangers  the following week  at their New Pitch in
Clough but the heavy snow falls around the area meant that the match had to be call off
